Week one: We received our brief, 'To Sense My Space'. During the week introductions were held giving information about the year ahead. On Thursday I began getting my ideas down on paper. When reading the brief my immediate thoughts were personal space, physical and imaginary. I thought of the body in space and how we respond to the boundaries. Confined spaces and emotions associated with them. Negative and positive space, the mind as a space, the body as a vessel for space but that it also occupies space etc.
Brainstorm of my ideas, looking at physical and imaginary spaces. |
I found the idea of confined spaces interesting and this led me to think about a crowed space, how one can feel boxed in and confined when in the middle of a large group. This idea was both a personal one but one I hope others can easily relate to.
